One thing to consider. During an economic crisis, history has shown that gold skyrockets. I wouldn't quite buying small monthly purchases, but I'd be very carefully about buying a lot, as the bubble has started. It could be at the bottom, but if it isn't then that could be trouble. I new a guy that bought a ton at about 2000 an ounce, and he was crying in his beer. Why did he do that? He heard gold was going up, but he heard it when it had already been creeping up.


So, in 2014, when I discovered the relationship between gold and real estate, gold was about $1150 to $1250 per ounce. Now it's reached over 1600, so back down. You'd have to buy a lot to make a difference. For instance, In 2004 gold was averaging $410 an ounce. I had no clue about these things then. So I bought a piece of land. I paid $38,000.00 for it. I sold it last year almost $80,000 dollars. Okay do the math with me. 38k divided by 410 equals almost 93 ounces of gold. The other day gold was $1600 an ounce. so 93 times 1600 equals $148,800. So I lost 148k minus 80k equals $68,800 that I lost because I didn't think gold was currency that is traded without being affected on the market because it is a collectable, not a stock. It is like hummel dolls or commemorative plates, except this gold stuff moves mountains.


So, did I buy gold with my profit, even though I lost 80k by being ignorant about gold? No, I went out yesterday and bought a 5.6 acre parcel next to a lake/pond, that forms what is called Grizzly Creek. I own the gateway to a nice creek. I got it for a steal by the way. You have to look for the deals and move quickly.
