Resume View: When Fatherhood is Viewed through a Career Perspective!

When I became a father, without a degree in parenting, or work experience, only an internship long ago from when I was required to baby-sit my younger brothers, of course I was nervous. So I begin to lean towards the perspective I routinely used in my career to help me become a better fit for the position. As a father, I have carved out my mission and overall goals using a resume theme as a backdrop. I sighted some of the transferrable skills found on my resume and used them to form a quasi business strategy for fatherhood. These were my thoughts….

Based on my music career, fatherhood encompasses the aims of making a better re-written version of my song, a remix of me. Even the idea of creating the perfect song that captures the motif of an epic biographic cinematic film or made for television movie comes to mind. (Excuse the hint of ego). Based on my insurance background, it's Life Insurance with Living Benefits! The chance to insure my son's well-being as he becomes a man, and the benefit of witnessing the actual return on my investment during my life time. As a father, if I can educate my son on the lessons of life, teach him the lessons that took me a lifetime to learn, while also uploading into his memory archives great times, great people, great music and great events, I think he will have a chance to live an exceptional life, and become an exceptional man. I must continue to recruit him everyday. I must pay close attention to new trends and changes effecting my target demographic. I should invest heavily in marketing and advertising, just as much as some of the numerous competitor companies clamoring to capture his attention. Encouraging a self-starter mentality can only positively influence a commitment to life-long learning, which is essential to personal growth. Additionally, I must make him aware of the importance of his personal brand and his network, as I groom him for leadership. With hands-on training, an above average investment into his research and development, he will have the skill set to become an effective problem-solver, a critical thinker, a center of influence, and a great processor of information. Ultimately he will possess to the ability to prospect the future and when needed, confidently cold-call to make the sale! Subsequently, his resume will form the foundation of his own fatherhood strategy.
