Snapchat Agency Adventure 🎮

Snapchat has launched a custom video game, “Snapchat Agency Adventure,” in an effort to deepen its ties with the agency world. Designed to capture what it’s like to work at an agency and showcase how Snapchat can be a part of the process, the new web browser-based video game includes a virtual agency office in which users can play various mini-games, partake in snarky in-game dialogue, and more. 

TikTok Labels AI-Generated Content 🤖

TikTok is rolling out a new feature that lets users label posts that have been created or enhanced by artificial intelligence. The AI label will appear below the username in the corner of videos, including a reminder that content could be removed if it’s not disclosed that AI tools were involved. TikTok is also testing a new way to automatically label content as AI-generated.

TikTok is also testing a new feature that integrates Google Search into its own in-app search results. Following previous reports that TikTok is experimenting with incorporating Wikipedia entries directly into its search results, the video-based app seems to be doubling down on its growing reputation as a search engine in itself. 

YouTube Goes All In on AI

Continuing this week’s theme of AI, YouTube unveiled several new creator tools, including “Dream Screen,” that allows users to add AI-generated images or videos as backgrounds for YouTube Shorts. Announced at its annual Made on YouTube event, the company also previewed AI video topic suggestions, music search, and more. 

Snapchat Hits 5️⃣ Million

Snapchat announced that its subscription service, Snapchat+, has topped 5 million subscribers. The $3.99/month subscription service offering exclusive access to certain features, custom app themes, unique app icons, and more has steadily grown from three million users in mid-April to four million in late June to now five million in September.

  • Emu — Meta’s new foundational model for image generation comes with generative AI stickers that can be created in seconds, available for use on the company’s messaging apps.

  • Meta AI — Meta announced several new AI-powered bots across its messaging apps including an AI assistant, a new platform that lets businesses build AI chatbots, and more.
