Software in the making...

Making software that just works ain't particularly easy. The reason for this are many: Some engineers just start programming the minute they think they understand what needs to be done. This is fine for small tiny projects where the scope is limited, but it can and will become a disaster when the project starts out small but gets bigger and bigger and bigger...

Other companies apply all sorts of methods. We can all remember Waterfall programming. These days Agile seems to be very popular. If you don't know your Agile, you miss the game. In the industry you just shout the word 'Industry 4.0' . These buzz words/methods are all fine and server their purpose well. However none of these are a guarantee for good software.

I have seen the same mistakes over and over again. A team ambitiously starts working on a new software project but after having spend lots of time and money many customers don't get what they had in mind when they launched the project.

The solution is not a specific method, structure procedures or more money and time. It's something else... It's the flexibility and the courage to change when you see something is not working anymore. It's also the courage to throw away and start over. It is the courage to do something else. Something that nobody else is doing.

Spotify illustrates this quite well in their 'way of working'. Hope you will enjoy this video and let me know what you think.
