Summer Internship at Daimler Trucks North America, LLC

~Take pride in how far you have come, and have faith in how far you can go~

Aug 8th is a special day for me. This day, I boarded my flight from India to Columbus, USA (last year) and left behind, my loving parents and friends, comfort of home and a well-paid job for the sake of pursuing my passion for the field of Advanced Automotive Engineering. Never had I imagined that, after exactly one year from that day, I would be working with one of the North America’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer “Daimler Trucks North America”. I feel blessed enough to have enjoyed a work life I always dreamt of. Internship at DTNA, SC office, where in I have been working on a US-China project deliverable (CERC -Range extended Hybrid Vehicle Truck) from past three months, was certainly a ride full of learnings and unique challenges. This place provided me an ample space and time for creativity and out-of-the box thinking. A successful stint was all possible due to the steadfast support of my worthy mentors at The Ohio State University: Dr. Giorgio Rizzoni and Dr. Qadeer Ahmed.

As I enter in the final week of my internship at DTNA, I realize it is equally important to take a halt, look back, and feel happy & proud of yourself and your career decision, but also never become complacent. Thank you Mr. Travis Bach and Mr. David Kiser for your constant support at DTNA. This one year in USA has been amazing and challenging so far and can’t really be explained in words. I am also very excited to join back the varsity in a couple of weeks, where yet another amazing research opportunity in the field of Electric vehicles awaits me at the Center for Automotive Research, The Ohio State University.

~Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.~
