#TearThePaperCeiling: Featuring Jobcase

Jobcase is the only social platform dedicated to empowering workers, and workers have responded by helping Jobcase grow to a top 3 destination for online career services (Comscore ranked) that serves over 120 million registered members with over 15 million active in any given month.  Additionally, Jobcase technology powers job matching services for employers and jobseekers alike at most US newspapers and many non-profits, government agencies and for-profit businesses. The shared mission between Opportunity@Work and Jobcase has provided a strong foundation for motions toward tearing that Paper Ceiling.

The vast majority of Jobcase members are STARs – people Skilled Through Alternative Routes rather than a bachelor’s degree – that Jobcase provides tools and community to empower everyday. As a coalition partner, Jobcase has done more than just amplify the Tear the Paper Ceiling message; the company has helped workers, including STARs, get ahead by showcasing their skills and talent to employers. Jobcase added skills to resumes and profiles, for workers to leverage in both their job exploration and applications and to stand out to employers. They’ve also rolled out a generative AI resume-building feature to help job seekers easily create resumes and applications that match each job they’re interested in.

“We are so proud of the unique partnership we’ve forged with Opportunity@Work, rooted in our mutual desire to make the job-seeking process more equitable for STARs by building tools and technology that help awesome people to fill open positions at top employers,” said Fred Goff, cofounder and CEO of Jobcase. “From the start, STARs have been in our spotlight – topping the list of groups we empower. We look forward to growing our partnership and delivering scaled results in years to come.”

For many months, Jobcase’s engineering teams worked hand-in-hand to integrate Stellarworx, Opportunity@Work’s STARs talent marketplace, with the Jobcase community. The result is the new STARs Job Hub, a specific home on Jobcase where STARs can find higher-wage jobs pulled from Stellarworx. Jobs that don’t require a degree are specifically flagged in the system, helping more STARs and employers connect with each other.

“There have been times that I've looked at applying for a job that I had primary and transferable skills for but chose not to apply because it required a BA,” says Jerilyn B., a Jobcase user from Oregon. “This [STARs Job Hub on Jobcase] is a phenomenal alternative for both businesses and candidates alike!”

Jobcase offers more than just a job market: millions of workers are on Jobcase to share stories, advice, and much needed support and motivation. Members can find help with everything work related including topics ranging from combating ageism, finding second chance opportunities, and overcoming disabilities at work.

All of these features are developed and designed with one goal in mind: help more workers find the support they need to succeed in their work lives. As Jobcase says, worker success benefits everyone - workers, employers, and our society in general.
