My top tips for selecting a good recruiting firm are:
Is this firm your partner? Do they take the time to sell candidates on your company and culture as well as the opportunity?
Do they desire a long-term relationship with you to help you build your team or are they just looking for a quick placement?
Will they take care of you if something does not work out?
Are they ethical?
Do they specialize in the Multifamily Industry?
Has your recruiter worked in our industry so that they know the best detailed questions to ask when interviewing candidates?
Do they use a specific process and can they describe that process to you?
Does your recruiter spend time with you understanding the opportunity; your hot buttons; and all the details prior to starting the search?
Does your recruiter perform detailed interviews with the candidates and provide a written presentation on each candidate or do they just send a bunch of resumes and hope one sticks?
Does your recruiter arrange the interviews for you and save you time and effort?
Do they debrief the candidates after interviews; and if they do, do they provide you with a summary of the candidate’s impression of your company and the opportunity?
Do they conduct the offer negotiation on behalf of the client in order to save you from this sometimes contentious discussion as well as saving you money?
How long specifically have they been recruiting in the Multifamily Industry?
Must have excellent references with other companies as well as candidates.
