"Urgent Call for Action: High Morbidity of Amphetamine-Related Intoxication in People Living with HIV"

This study highlights the high morbidity caused by amphetamine-related intoxication in people living with HIV. Altered levels of consciousness, psychosis, and suicide attempt were associated with severe intoxication, observed in 28.2% of individuals. These results emphasize the importance of healthcare providers incorporating harm-reduction measures to prevent amphetamine-related intoxication in people with HIV and tailored care to mitigate the risk of amphetamine-related harm. This research underscores the urgent need to address the impact of drug use on vulnerable populations such as those living with HIV.European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS)AIDS Foundation of ChicagoGeSIDA https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1111/hiv.13365
