When quitting seems like the easy option, it's time to go BIG!

When quitting seems like the easy option, it's time to go BIG!

This month we celebrated our best ever month in business since setting up in July 2019!

The last 12 months didn't always look quite like this picture, but we made a pact! Never decrease our goals, only increase our effort and make our goals even bigger!

Like many small business owners, the announcement of lockdown hit us hard. We were on track to have a fantastic year in 2020, our classroom-based courses were already fully booked and we were looking at putting on additional training's.

Overnight, we lost over 60% of the revenue we were due to bring in and any new bookings came to a halt. Not only that, being a new business, we had no financial support in the form of grants to keep us going. Things were not looking good!

Giving up certainly seemed like the easier option at times and we can honestly say that if we didn’t know what we know, having and practicing the mindset tools and techniques that we teach others, Beyond wouldn’t have carried on.

We have seen many other small businesses and self-employed individuals who found themselves in a similar position, who didn’t know how to deal with the emotional rollercoaster, the mental challenges, and day-to-day thoughts that the last 12 months brought up. We can appreciate that having both been through events in the past that were less challenging, yet we were unable to deal with at the time

What did we do?

It took us around 8 months of doing things differently during lockdown to realise that things needed to change. With the uncertainty of when we could get back into the classroom and what that would actually looked like, we made the decision to think outside of the box that we had been in and find the opportunity to improve what we do.

When you’re so busy in the day-to-day of ‘doing business’, it can be easy to put creativity to the side for a later date...one that never comes!

We knew what we wanted to do, it was a goal that we’d had in mind for 5 years down the line, completely changing the services we offer. A goal that would make us different to others in our industry and help our students to get massive results. It was a massive task and we had no idea how we were going to do it but we decided that now was the time to do it anyway.

Making our goals smaller would’ve been a reflection of a belief that we couldn’t achieve them, and through releasing any negative emotions and limiting beliefs, we knew we could. So we made them bigger!

There was a lot of brainpower and resilience needed to get through the 16-hour workdays, 7 days a week. We held onto the reason we were doing it the whole time.

Fast forward to today and we have just completed our first new programme and it has been a huge success. Better than we ever imagined!

The whole process has been the biggest learning curve and also, the biggest period of growth for us. We had every excuse to not go for it and most people would’ve backed our decision to opt-out, but for us, that would’ve been living a life of settling for something less than we really want. Our next and final programme of 2021 begins in July and we are already almost full. We're so glad that we chose to trust and believe in ourselves!

The last 12 months have given us even more drive and passion to really help others live a life of purpose. Hearing our clients words continues to motivate us every day...
