Why is it important to back up your data?

First let me ask you this question. What do you have in your data that is important to you? Pictures of family, homework assignments, financial information, crucial business information, patient records, insurance information, information about employees, etc…

With that being said, if you were to lose that data, can you live without it? Or no? If your business, your life, or your job depends on that data, you are going to want to keep it in a safe place. In today’s world, malicious activities are more prominent than ever. Social engineering attacks are increasing as time goes on. More variants of malware, such as ransomware are being discovered. The malware authors, the hackers, the bad guys, they are not going away anytime soon. It is better to invest in the best backup solutions for your data, rather than have to be begging malware authors to give your data back to you later. Another problem is that most businesses are still running on unpatched, legacy technologies. With Windows 7 becoming end of life, that leaves many businesses open for attack. Many networks out there are at risk. Some are not doing anything about it. So will you do something about it? Will you take the initiative to back up before it’s too late? If more of us continue to back up our data, then we are winning. If we continue to make news headlines of hospitals losing millions, and businesses shutting down, we are losing. Hopefully this will give you something to think about.
