Recruited to Lehigh as a pole vaulter, Louis Logsdail ’24 balanced a rigorous training regimen, competition schedule, and coaching responsibilities with his studies in mechanical engineering. After working closely with Brian Slocum, the managing director of design labs at Wilbur Powerhouse, Logsdail landed an internship at Singularis Solutions, where he worked on multiple stealth technology projects. Inspired by her brother’s Lehigh journey, Irene Macri ’24 rose to the challenge of being both an engineering student and a member of the Steel Battalion in Lehigh’s ROTC program. Though the mental and physical demands were taxing, she proved her resilience and was soon leading her team through training activities and conducting research alongside associate professor Christina Viau Haden. She even found the time to co-create the ever-growing women’s wrestling club! Initially a remote student, Karen Li ‘24 blossomed after joining the campus community. After being introduced to new challenges by computer science and engineering professors, Roberto Palmieri and David Saldaña, Li was captivated by aerial robotics. Driven by her passion, she founded and led the Lehigh Aerial Swarms Club, and even traveled to the Philippines to showcase the potential of aerial robotics to aid in disaster relief efforts.
