The first start of #TomBrady’s National Football League (NFL) career saw the future seven-time Super Bowl champion complete 13 of 23 pass attempts for 168 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions in a 44-13 New England Patriots victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Despite the lopsided score, the second-year quarterback was solid but not spectacular. All things considered, it’s hard to imagine that anyone left that game thinking they just witnessed the future GOAT’s debut. It's the end of an era for #Chicago sports. With the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago White Sox departing their longtime broadcasting home for the Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) next season, NBC Sports Chicago is ending its run. Having launched on October 1, 2004 (as Comcast SportsNet Chicago), that makes September 2024 a celebration of 20 years as well as the final days before it ceases operations on the last day of the month. He reflected on his long tenure at PFF, where he played a key role in building the company from the ground up, and discussed the emotions that came with leaving a place that had become a major part of his life.

ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro hates it when the network he represents is referred to as the “Worldwide Leader in Sports.” He also hates it when everyone refers to ESPN as a “network” as well. Despite what they’re saying, if you look at the actions the company is taking, ESPN is actually still moving like the worldwide leader in sports.

Ten years ago, while working as a reporter and host for NBC and the NFL Network, Alex Flanagan parted ways with her agent, longtime sports media representative Sandy Montag. Now, she serves as the Vice President of Broadcasting at The Montag Group: A Wasserman Company, where she also works as a sports media agent. “In an odd twist of funniness, Sandy was my agent at one point, and I actually fired him. And now I’m working for him. So who has the last laugh,” Flanagan tells Awful Announcing in an interview.
