Happy Pride Month! 🌈   Last month, Beam Women's League and Pride@Beam sponsored this year’s AIDS Walk which was a major success! It was a powerful reminder of our community’s strength and resilience. Together, we walked to support those affected by HIV/AIDS, raised awareness, and contributed to life-saving research and resources.     As we continue to celebrate Pride Month, let’s remember that our fight for equality and love for all is intertwined with the fight against HIV/AIDS. Every step we take, every voice we raise, and every hand we hold brings us closer to a world of acceptance, understanding, and health for all.    Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, and showed their support. As a reminder, Juneteenth celebrates the day 250K Black Americans were freed from slavery in Texas – a monumental moment following the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. On June 13, Melanated@Beam is hosting a viewing of Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom, which tells the story of the day. In May we had many successful events, including our 2nd Annual Networking Event! Beam Women's League members had an amazing time connecting with powerhouse female leaders, and building new relationships. We'd like to give a huge thanks to the organizers and everyone who joined us for making the event so unforgettable. We're already looking forward to what next year's event will bring! 🌟

In April we planted the seeds for the life that we want and this month we are going to focus on how much we have bloomed since then! For May’s theme, Time to Bloom, we are going to focus on the progress we have made since taking these small steps and really celebrate all the ways we have grown.

As we navigate through the next week, let’s take a moment to reflect on our mindset and how we speak to ourselves and one another. Food for thought: How many times have you experienced negative self talk? Guilty 🙋♀️ And how often do you believe the words that you say about yourself? Intrusive thoughts that come tricking in as the day goes on? We challenge you to block those thoughts, speak life into yourself, and recognize the beauty that you have within. 💜 Just as a seed needs sunlight to flourish, what positive thoughts can I cultivate to fuel my growth? 🌱 Join us as we plant the seeds for our own personal growth this month by writing your goals, aspirations, and intentions on post it notes and adding it to a jar for a later day when you need that boost of motivation and encouragement. Remember, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Today and Always. 💝

Hello April 😎 Our theme for this month is planting the seeds! 🌱 Planting the seeds is all about setting your intentions and focusing on the little things in life that help get you to where you want to go. Focusing on each small step at a time can help make overwhelming tasks achievable and remind you that even the smallest win can turn into a step to something even greater. 💙

Part 2 of ally & member interview  Sometimes when the world feels a little too overwhelming it’s amazing how much of a difference it can make when you have support from the people around you ❤️ We encourage you to uplift the people around you by letting them know your favorite thing about them!
