Today, professional golf returns to its roots as the 152nd Open Championship — often referred to as The Open, or the British Open and the oldest golf tournament in the world — kicks off at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland. Tomorrow we celebrate the Fourth of July and commemorate the passage of the Declaration of Independence.  As millions of families around the country celebrate with parties and backyard barbecues, we remember the millions of children who go hungry every day, as well as the tens of thousands who suffer from childhood cancer. Childhood hunger is a real crisis in America, and today, over 21.5 million+ students rely on free and reduced-price lunches at school. C&S Charities is proud that proceeds from the 39th Tee Up For Kids™ Golf Outing (https://lnkd.in/ev5TgwUz) will support Feeding America®, the nation’s largest hunger-relief charity with a network of 200 member food banks and 60,000 partner pantries and meal programs. Last year, the Feeding America network provided 131 million meals through several Child Nutrition Programs including the BackPack Program, Kids Café and School Pantry Program. Today, women account for more than one-quarter (26%) of the on-course golfer population in the U.S., the highest proportion on record and a significant increase from 20% in 2011. This Women’s Golf Month, as we strive to include even more women in golf, we want to applaud the female golfers participating in the 39th Tee Up For Kids™ Golf Outing.
