Our WheelScan system developed by KLD Labs was featured in the July Digital Issue of Railway Track & Structures! The WheelScan system is an advanced in-track wheel profile measurement solution designed to continuously monitor the condition of wheels at track speed by automatically capturing, monitoring, and storing rail profiles of all wheels passing the measurement site. The system then flags and reports worn wheels electronically to maintenance departments, enabling precise planned maintenance and budgeting for asset replacement. ENSCO Rail reposted this
Today ends a 3-week journey that started on May 31st, where I represented ENSCO Rail, learned and shared knowledge with three of the most prestigious railroads in the World: Vale (Sao Luis, Brazil), CPKC (Calgary, Canada) , and Rumo (Araraquara, Brazil). During the first week I had the pleasure to help ENSCO, Inc. team during installation of our Vehicle/Track Interaction (V/TI) Monitor, and train VALE staff on how to leverage all the data that will be generated. V/TIs are stand-alone systems installed on revenue vehicles such as locomotives or passenger coaches to access the condition of track and vehicles through acceleration monitoring to provide real-time alerting and proactive maintenance planning. During the second week, I had the pleasure of working with the CPKC on our unique Vision Systems and Virtual Track Walk Software, discuss next steps and how ENSCO Rail team can keep supporting CPKC. During the third week, I had the pleasure to not only provide training to RUMO team, on the Automated Maintenance Advisor (AMA) Software but also learn their procedures. The ENSCO Automated Maintenance Advisor (AMA) is key to transforming track measurement data into actionable maintenance tasks. ENSCO built the AMA to trend deteriorating conditions and recommend remedial maintenance tasks to proactively and scientifically conduct track maintenance. To summarize, I would like to thank all for the opportunity, specially ENSCO, Inc., and the trust from our partners: Vale, Rumo and CPKC. #Railroad #PreventiveMaintenance American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) INTERNATIONAL HEAVY HAUL ASSOCIATION #TrackGeometry
