At GMV, we're advancing satellite Earth Observation (#EO) technology for the assessment and management of multi-(hazard-)risk. Multi-(hazard-)risk, which encompasses the risks arising from the interaction of multiple hazards (droughts, heatwaves, wildfires, volcanos, cyclones, etc.), including their interrelationships and the compounding effects on vulnerabilities, presents a significant challenge. We’re proud to lead the PLESS (Plastic-Less Society) demonstration project, dedicated to harnessing Earth Observation technology to combat marine pollution 🌊 ♻️. Our goal? To develop and implement cutting-edge services for identifying floating marine plastics and reducing their environmental impact. The Plastic-Less Society consortium is combining satellite data and oceanographic models to provide valuable insights into marine pollution, with a focus on enhancing the spatial resolution of Sentinel 2 images. #GlobalGoals #GMV4SDGs #EarthObservation #MarinePollution
