It is a matter close to our hearts to actively support the initiative of DPolG who introduced their foundation in 1997 and constantly follow their mission that sometimes also helpers are the ones who need help. The foundation aims to provide the support needed nationwide to police officers injured in the line of duty and their families. GORE-TEX Professional Fabrics, VIKING Fire PPE, AAK Safety AS and Cresto Safety recently wrapped up an incredible week of training in Greenland, collaborating with height rescue personnel to test the latest innovations while surrounded by breathtaking glaciers, fjords, and mountains. VIKING Fire PPE delivered the first GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® PYRAD® Stretch garments to the Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq and Tasiilaq, Greenland to test the functionality with these elastic jackets and trousers. New GORE-TEX Stretch garments enabled them to complete the training free of constraint, increasing the mobility of the rescuer, and making it possible to focus on their tasks. “After 7 intense days, the emergency services have just trained 8 new height and mountain rescuers, from Tasiilaq and Nuuk. We are now even better equipped to help citizens and tourists when an accident occurs.” (Jes Damgaard Andersen, Emergency Manager Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq) The course was both physically and mentally demanding, the Rescue Service is delighted with their Advanced Training, and the advances offered by GORE-TEX garments. Firefighters at MEYER PORT4 GmbH 4 factory fire department at the MEYER WERFT GmbH & Co. KG shipyard in Papenburg face unique challenges. Fires at the ship construction site involve high temperatures in the ship's hull. Narrow corridors, steep stairs, and exposed wiring make movement difficult. Long travel distances further complicate operations. To stay prepared for emergencies, Meyer Port 4 maintains a training area for regular drills under real-life conditions.
