On my recent visit to Wimbledon I was able to see how some of its sponsorship partners are connecting with fans.
It is working with long-term partner IBM to produce a new 'Catch Me Up' feature that displays pre and post-match player cards with AI-generated player stories and analysis. These are available on the wimbledon.com website and via the Wimbledon 2024 App. Player cards will be personalised based on user preferences and data, such as their location and myWimbledon profile, starting with their favourite players (see images).
Pre-match content will include analysis of recent performance and likelihood-to-win predictions. Post-match it will include key statistics and highlights. The feature will also create longer-form daily summaries of play. IBM is showcasing its data prowess in situ at Wimbledon.
Vodafone continues to be Wimbledon’s Official Connectivity Partner. The telco has increased its network capacity to deliver the best Wimbledon experience. Building upon the Glastonbury free eSIM network trial it is providing users with a similar offering with 50GB data, 500 minutes and 500 texts for 7 days, completely free, without changing your number. This is part of the company’s efforts to position itself as the Nation’s Network. There’s the usual Vodafone Connection Hub within the grounds:
🎾 Vodafone Accuracy Challenge to score points and climb to the top of the leader board
🎾 Memories at the photobooth and plenty charge up stations for devices
🎾 VeryMe Vending Machine for a chance to win some incredible prizes
