📣 Episode 10 of CAPSITE's The Sectional Podcast is out now! 🎧 Mobile ID, Customer Connect System, CAV testing, and a pilot testing out Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety (DADSS) technology are just some ways Chrissy Nizer and her team are modernizing the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) 🚗🚘. But these systems don’t run on their own, customer service is at the core of everything the MVA does. Needless to say, we were humbled with the opportunity to speak with Administrator Nizer and hear about how the MVA puts people first in new, safe, and innovative ways. 🦺💭 📲 Search for “CAPSITE” or “The Sectional” on your favorite podcast service, or use this Speaker hosting site link: https://lnkd.in/eK7F4S_E 👆🏻 Don't forget to like and subscribe! 👍🏻✔ Please contact Producer David Duarte, PE, PTOE with any comments, questions, and suggestions. #ITE #transportation #CAPSITE #podcast #TheSectional

It was a pleasure co-presenting with my colleague Adam Groves at last night's CAPSITE SimCap Mid-Year Technical Meeting. Our focus was on multimodal analysis, data collection, and pedestrian/bicycle safety. We had insightful discussions on how customers leverage PTV Vissim for analyzing bicycles and pedestrians along shared-use paths to ensure safe crossings. PTV also shared valuable insights on screening and analyzing prioritized locations for multimodal connectivity improvements. During our presentation, we covered various PTV tools: * PTV Visum for safety, trip-chain/ABM, and shared mobility analysis. * PTV Lines for optimizing transit stop locations and accessibility. * PTV Vistro for crosswalk analysis, LPIs and Exclusive ped interval studies, bicycle green wave analysis, and ingesting signal timings from #Econolite Centracs. * PTV Vissim for advanced simulation of pedestrians, bicycles, vehicles, and crossing treatments. * PTV Publisher for summarizing data into dashboards for stakeholder and public review. The Q&A session highlighted interest in our crash analysis capabilities in PTV Visum Safety and summarizing findings in dashboards. ✨ In case you missed it ✨ On June 22, 2024, CAPSITE hosted a 12-mile bike tour in Washington DC to highlight several bicycle facility projects that were designed by our members. The 12-mile loop route visited several recently completed facilities in the city, such as along the 4th St SW, 15th St NW, Virginia Ave NW, 20th St NW, 9th St NW corridors and the Metropolitan Branch Trail. 🚵♂️ Along the route, volunteers from the 16 bike tour attendees provided brief explanations of project development, unique features, and design constraints for each project. The tour helped highlight the continuing effort that the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is making in implementing Active Transportation projects, and showcased some of the many safe and sustainable multimodal transportation facilities around Washington DC that our members were involved in. Thanks to all who helped to make this event a success! 👏 #multimodal #activetransportation #safety #sustainability
