Changemakers Spotlight: Real Growth Stories At Changemakers Network, we are inspired by the incredible journeys our participants share. Impactful Communication for Leadership is our comprehensive program designed to enhance leadership and facilitation capabilities. With a focus on effective facilitation, leadership impact, and adapting to diverse audiences, participants engage in interactive sessions, practical workshops, and one-on-one coaching to develop and apply their skills in real-world scenarios. We love how our programs challenge participants to step out of their comfort zones and grow. Check out this heartfelt reflection from one of our fellows about their journey in our Impactful Leadership Series Kickoff:

Here comes another bout of fear... Do I accept another push from the God pushing me forward and not letting get comfortable? In all honesty, what choice do I really have? I either succumb to God's will or the devil will take me, right? So I said yes to the amazing team at Jewish Changemakers and agreed to another bout of sessions so generously organized by JFNA in the hope of honing in on my leadership skills. I realize that while I'm getting comfortable at keeping conversations flowing in person, I have a looooong way to go when conversing virtually. When large groups split into breakout rooms and people are slowly and often awkwardly entering, how do I handle the introductions? Or when the connection is spotty and I don't know what I missed or what the other person missed. It's not like in person when someone doesn't hear me. I need to learn new social cues. Mind you, I dropped out of college when it went remote as I felt a huge drop in connection and practical learning. Yet now I find myself using remote technology to meet people all over the globe whom I would have other never gotten the chance to meet! Is this your experience too? In what ways do find it easier to connect remotely and in what ways is meeting in-person better?

I can't believe Jewish Changemakers' Summer 2024 session is already over! This fellowship has done so much to boost my confidence and open my mind to the many aspects of Jewish leadership! I particularly enjoyed learning to craft effective advocacy pitches from Martin Storrow and laughing with the very articulate and hilarious Pamela Schuller. Thank you, Julee Levine, for facilitating such a warm and collaborative cohort experience. It was such a pleasure to learn from and with you! I look forward to more engagement with Changemakers this Fall, and in the meantime, I'm happy to answer any questions from potential fellows! And that's a wrap on the Summer 2024 Session of the Jewish Changemakers Fellowship. Over the last six weeks we challenged ourselves to think bigger about our impact in our communities and our world. Our roles as Jewish leaders today are critical- and we know we are in good hands with our Changemakers leading the charge. Hear from Zack Zaidener about his Fellowship experience! “Participating in the May-June 2024 Changemakers Cohort was an experience I will never forget. When I first initially heard about the fellowship, I knew I had to apply. I wasn’t sure what to expect and wow was I surprised! During one of our first meetings, it was fascinating to me how much I have in common with people who I have never met before. Even though we all live in different places, we were able to talk about a lot of similarities we are facing today and have faced in the past. I also got to listen and learn from extraordinary people who are making a real difference in our Jewish communities all around the world. The world looks very different post October 7th, and I honestly really enjoyed connecting with and hearing so many people’s stories and experiences of how resilient and strong we all are in the face of adversity.” - Zack Zaidener, Changemakers Fellow Summer 2024

What a great first week of the Summer Session of the #JewishChangemakers Fellowship. We are so glad to have leaders like Sam on the ground at the Great Miami Jewish Federation and participating in this network of peers and fellow leaders! We can't wait for the next 5 weeks to come!

Thrilled to have been selected for the JFNA's Jewish Changemakers Fellowship!!! Changemakers is tailored to empower young Jewish leaders like myself to make a positive difference in the community. Over the next six weeks, I will collaborate with fellow changemakers and further develop my leadership skills. I am excited to begin this fellowship and grow both personally and as a Jewish professional!

Time flew by so fast! It’s hard to believe our Jewish Changemakers Fellowship has already wrapped up. The past six weeks have been packed with incredible plenaries and engaging discussions with my cohort—what a great bunch of people to learn alongside! I'm super grateful to the Jewish Federations of North America for this amazing program that broadened my perspective. A standout moment was the lecture from Rabbi Mike Uram —his insights were eye-opening and truly inspiring. Big thanks to Mikayla Stokes, our cohort leader, for facilitating such a welcoming and supportive environment. It’s been fantastic getting to know each member of our cohort better and sharing this journey with them. Excited for the next steps in our advocacy and leadership paths, and I can’t wait to see the impact we’re going to make as Changemakers.
