Congratulations to #HopkinsGIM's Dr. Alejandra Ellison-Barnes for receiving the American Heart Association's 2024 Career Development Award! This grant will support her project, titled "Understanding and Addressing Obesity Among Emerging Adults Ages 18-25." The study will include qualitative interviews with emerging adults with obesity who are facing socioeconomic stressors as well as an adaptation of an existing behavioral weight management intervention for this population.

Rachel Kruzan, MD, won the Ambulatory Preceptor Award. 2. Heather Sateia, MD, recognized and thanked for her contributions as Associate Program Director and twice as interim Program Director. 3. GIM Division Director Dr. Jeanne Clark met U.S. first lady Dr. Jill Biden and Kenyan first lady Rachel Ruto last week at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center. During the roundtable #BidenCancerMoonshot discussion in our nation's capital last Thursday, Dr. Clark highlighted the Brancati Center's mission to address health challenges and find solutions through community program implementation, education, and community-based research.
