International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) SSC study: "Standardizing Platelet Transcriptomics for Discovery, Diagnostics, and Therapeutics in the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Community (STRIDE)", addresses the pressing need for standardized platelet isolation methods in transcriptomic studies. Key findings highlight that the platelet isolation technique significantly impacts both genome-wide transcriptional and functional assays. The study compared three commonly used methods and found that methods enhancing leukocyte removal, like anti-CD45 beads and PALL filters, provide higher quality RNA essential for next-generation sequencing. Clinical guidelines for postpartum thromboprophylaxis differ due to its uncertain effect and varying preferences of experts. Women’s preferences for postpartum thromboprophylaxis are unknown, although they may inform practices and future research. In this study to elicit the pregnant women’s preferences for postpartum thromboprophylaxis according to different risks of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and bleeding.
