Metrology Solutions for Labs & Fabs-Profilers, Nanoindenters, Film Thickness & Sheet Resistance Tools, Defect Inspectors
About us
The Instruments group at KLA offers a large portfolio of stylus and optical profilometers, nanoindenters, thin film reflectometers, sheet resistance measurement tools and Candela® defect inspection systems. www.kla.com/instruments KLA Instruments' line of optical and stylus profilers offer a complete range of surface metrology capabilities for engineering and research communities. Our benchtop and automated profilers are designed to measure step height, film thickness, form, texture and automated defect inspection. We also offer high-throughput nanomechanical testers for material characterization. With flexible add-on and upgrade options, our nanoindenter systems can be used hardness, Young’s modulus, adhesion and more. Our affordable UV to NIR spectrometer systems measure thin film thickness from 1nm to 13mm, optical constants, and deposition rates of thin films. Candela® inspection and metrology systems support power device manufacturers, RF communications, LED and hard-disk manufacturers with process control and increased yield. #Sheetresistance mapping is crucial to maximizing device performance for #semiconductor and #compoundsemiconductor manufacturing processes, but it is also useful for #IoT and #wearbletechnology research. Check out this video of the Filmetrics® R50-4PP sheet resistance mapper - the 60mm vertical clearance is also an advantage for all kinds of unusually-shaped or taller samples - fixtures, too! https://bit.ly/4dwtSxA

Congratulations to the teams at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), Technische Universität Dresden and IHP on their recent publication of "Milliseconds Thermal Processing of Boron Hyperdoped Germanium"! In their work, the team used the Tencor® P-17 stylus profiler to measure the depth profile of #SIMS craters to characterize the Boron dopant distribution. Happy National #Pickleball Day to the USA Pickleball Association and all you players out there! Look closely at the surface of a pickleball paddle and you will notice the surface texture, shown here in an image generated by the Filmetrics® Profilm3D® #opticalprofiler. Paddle texture affects the amount of spin that a player can impart to the ball, and it is one of several factors tested for paddle manufacturers to receive official approval from USA Pickleball. Click here to find out how your paddle tested: https://bit.ly/4dwYsGN #metrology #surfacemetrology #3Dtopography #3Dsurface #opticalprofilers #opticalprofilometers

What's up University of Washington? Dr. Jeremy Miller and Dr. Ivan Yermolenko were in #Seattle recently visiting the UW Washington Nanofabrication Facility (WNF) that is home to KLA Instruments #metrology systems, including this Tencor® P-17 Stylus profiler. The #WNF is part of the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (#NNCI) network, which provides access to #nanotechnology fabrication, inspection and metrology equipment as well as research and information sharing. In addition to supporting graduate, undergraduate and industry research programs, the WNF also does outreach programs to middle- and high-school students interested in learning more about #nanotechnology - very cool! Thank you to facility Director Maria Huffman and Cameron Toskey for sharing their time with us!
