LMU Law Mock Trial sent two teams to the Texas Young Lawyers National Trial Competition in Birmingham, AL this year. The teams consisted of Allie Jo Shankle, Taylor McCarty, Shelby Gevedon, and Tommy Gutwein. Also among the teams were witnesses Shelby Brackin, Theaya Kelley, Dmitry Badrunov, and Caden Brownyard. Out of 27 teams at the competition, Shelby Gevedon and Tommy Gutwein advanced to the semifinals and finished in 6th place! This year's Mock Trial coaches were Professor Adam Russel and Attorney Dominic Garduño.

Today was the first class of The Successful Lawyer, the newest addition to the LMU Law curriculum for first-year law students. Students will be able to engage with experienced faculty, as well as guest speakers comprised of judges and attorneys, throughout the course and learn firsthand how to be a successful lawyer.
