According to the Military Family Advisory Network, military families typically move every two to three years, and each move can set the average family back about $5,000 from unreimbursed expenses and household goods purchases. Thank you, Tampa Bay Chamber Military Advisory Committee, for providing a space to collaborate on important issues affecting the military community and pack welcome bags with household items to distribute to Tampa Bay military families to help ease the financial burdens of moving. We are so grateful to the Maximus employee volunteers and Foundation Ambassador, Jorge Mayol, for participating and making a positive impact in our communities. #SupportOurTroops #SupportMilitaryFamilies #MaximusSupports
About us
Maximus has a responsibility to create a positive impact in the communities in which we live and work. In line with the Company’s mission of Moving People Forward, the Maximus Board of Directors established the Maximus Foundation, an employee-led charitable nonprofit organization. Since its founding in 2000, the Foundation has expanded its impact from the United States to include the United Kingdom (Maximus Foundation UK) and Australia (MAX Foundation). Maximus employees serve the most vulnerable and at-risk communities around the globe. As a result, our employees have valuable insight into the unique issues impacting our communities. The Maximus Foundation is proudly led by employees who nominate and vote for future nonprofit grantees that center the communities closest to the social issues our sector seeks to solve.

On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Texas to announce to 250,000 enslaved African Americans something they didn’t receive two and a half earlier with the Emancipation Proclamation: their freedom. Juneteenth marks a pivotal moment in our history that celebrates moving toward progress while continuing to bring visibility to the African American community. However, there is still work needed to undo the systems and structures creating barriers to equality that stem from slavery to this day. Thank you to our local Maximus grantee partners, who are moving this work forward by supporting systemic change through civic engagement, advocacy, and local organizing in our communities. As we continue the legacy of Juneteenth, we hope to move closer to creating lasting change.
