🌟 **Celebrating Juneteenth: A Day of Reflection and Progress** 🌟 At Per Scholas, we are committed to advancing economic equity through rigorous training for tech careers. Today, we honor Juneteenth, a significant day in our nation's history that marks the end of slavery in the United States. This day is a poignant reminder of the ongoing journey toward freedom and equality for all. 🔹 **Why Juneteenth Matters**: Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, commemorates June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were informed of their liberation—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience, strength, and enduring spirit of African Americans throughout history. 🔹 **Aligning with Our Mission**: At Per Scholas, our mission is to provide transformative opportunities for historically underserved individuals and communities. Juneteenth embodies the values of freedom, equity, and opportunity—principles that are at the core of our work. By empowering diverse talent through education and career advancement, we strive to build a more inclusive and just society. 🔹 **Observing Juneteenth**: In recognition of Juneteenth, Per Scholas Greater Boston (PSGB) will be closed today to allow our teams and learners the opportunity to celebrate, reflect, and engage in activities that honor this important day. We encourage everyone to take this time to learn more about the history and significance of Juneteenth, and to consider how we can all contribute to a more equitable future. 📚 **Learn More**: To deepen your understanding of Juneteenth and its historical context, we recommend exploring the resources provided by the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Join us in commemorating Juneteenth and reaffirming our commitment to equality and opportunity for all. Together, we can make a difference. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #PerScholas #EconomicEquity
