Today, SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman announced a new Green Lender Initiative to enroll additional climate lenders in SBA’s loan programs. Administrator Guzman also announced that SBA will expand Community Advantage, the mission-driven component of the 7(a) Loan Program, by increasing the maximum loan amount and allowable geographic areas for lending, with particular flexibility for climate-focused projects. Francisco Sánchez Jr., associate administrator for the Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience at the Small Business Administration, today reminded Arkansas small businesses of the Aug. 19, 2024, deadline to apply for an SBA federal disaster loan for economic injury caused by severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes in Lonoke and Poinsett counties that occurred June 25 – 26, 2023. Applicants may apply online and receive additional disaster assistance information at SBA.gov/disaster.
