A recent multi-centered randomized controlled trial published in JAMA Pediatrics providing the highest level of clinical evidence - found that SecurAcath (SASS) saves money every time it is used. In this trial, evidence showed that SecurAcath provided a healthcare cost savings of AU $36.60 (approximately $24.36 USD) per patient, even with a relatively short dwell time of 25.5 days. This results in an annual cost savings of almost AU $20,000 based on approximately 520 nc-CVC insertions per year at a participating hospital.
