What an invigorating week of learning and connection in California! I attended Stanford Directors' College, the nation’s premier executive education program for directors and C-level executives of publicly traded firms. We covered hot topics for boards, including CEO compensation, cyber security, shareholder activism, geopolitical risks, board culture, ESG, the evolution of DEI programs, and--of course--AI. Kudos to Joseph Grundfest and Amanda Packel for creating and leading such a high quality program, and to speakers Janet S. Wong, James D. White, and Marie Oh Huber (among many others) for sharing your wisdom. I also had the chance to engage with other Asian corporate board directors at the Ascend Pinnacle Roundtable hosted by Barbara Adachi, NACD.DC, Susan Angele and KPMG. Finally, I carved out some quality time to catch up with long-time friend Norman Chen, who's driving incredible impact as CEO of The Asian American Foundation.
