A thoughtfully curated, free exhibit is a surefire way to make your event’s ideas more accessible for a wider community. TEDxNapier Bridge in Chennai, India is using creativity to transform how their community engages with timely topics. This interactive exhibit that accompanied a Salon about the impacts of misinformation and AI wasn’t just informative — it was fun! By gamifying the experience and incorporating multimedia elements, the team (led by Shyam Sundar, Madhu Ramakrishnan and Shakeenaa Abdul Gafoor) made the complex ideas in the event’s talks more approachable and engaging. Check out the project microsite, which offers digital media literacy guides and channels to report misinformation: www.truthcon.in/ Plus, inspired by the TED Countdown event in Detroit, US, the team prioritized sustainability in the event design. They incorporated as many recyclable materials as possible, using cardboard to build not only the exhibit installations but also the artwork and furniture.
