Earlier this week, I had the honor of speaking alongside Gen. Stephen Whiting, U.S. Space Command commander, and Lt. Gen. Jeff Kruse of the Defense Intelligence Agency at the Aspen Security Forum | Aspen Strategy Group . We discussed the evolving #space landscape, new capabilities and data sharing, and the role of industry and commercial partnerships in 21st Century Security. I was proud to highlight Lockheed Martin’s dedication to increasing industry resiliency, enhancing collaboration, and moving fast to deliver the advanced technologies needed for integrated deterrence. https://lnkd.in/gKsXvc2s

Few countries are better equipped to interpret the U.S.-China relationship than Singapore. The small but wealthy city-state has extensive contacts with Washington and Beijing and understands both sides. It knows what’s at stake. So, how is it watching as the Republican National Convention is underway, and a range of hawkish views on China policy are being aired out in the United States? I spoke with Singapore's defense minister Ng Eng Hen on stage at the opening night of the Aspen Security Forum | Aspen Strategy Group in Colorado. Ng said any form of a skirmish in the Pacific would be "cataclysmic." He was his usual diplomatic self but lamented the adversarial trajectory of the U.S.-China relationship. And he wondered aloud how anger in Southeast Asia over U.S. policy in the Middle East would impact American soft power. I always learn something new when I speak to Singaporean officials.
