Older women are represented in only about 10% of data on violence against women.. Yet, they continue to face particular risk of abuse since: ❌They are extremely isolated when violence occurs, making it more difficult for them to escape and report the abuse. ❌They face stigma and discrimination, which can further reduce their access to services or result in their accounts of violence being dismissed by responders. ❌As partners age, some women experience a shift from physical and/or sexual violence to psychological violence.
