Forward Jimmy Butler spoke to reporters on Monday.

Butler was asked about the Heat’s offseason and the narratives around the team.

Superstar Damian Lillard requested a trade to the Heat, before being traded to Milwaukee.

Butler said, “We just have to win more games than last year. Whenever you win everyone’s narrative is going to change. That’s everybody’s job as a whole... Whenever you win nobody is talking about anything. Everything is fine and dandy. You’re in a Utopia. Everything’s going well. So winning takes care of everything.”

The Heat are not featured prominently on the national television schedule, despite being in the Finals last season.

Butler was asked if it fuels him or bothers him, “Neither. I don’t worry about it. As long as we get to play basketball, I don’t care if we’re on TV or not... I know we got Detroit tomorrow and that’s all I know. I don’t know about the TV schedule.”

Butler didn’t play in the Heat’s preseason games.

However, he was impressed by his teammates.

Butler said he saw guys who want to compete.

Heat legend Udonis Haslem has been attending some Heat practices.

Butler said, “It’s always great have the GOATs pf this organization, the greats who know what it takes to win on this level for this organization, with him here it’s always smiles. You know it’s a little extra competition.”
