Dani Carvajal: “I tell Rodri every day to join Real Madrid”

Dani Carvajal spoke to the press a few days before the final of Euro 2024 vs England. He talked about a lot of things, one of which was, to everyone’s surprise, him publicly asking Rodri to join Real Madrid. He said: “I tell Rodri every day to sign for Real Madrid. I tell him every day to leave Manchester, that there is no sun there and to come to Madrid that we need him. He tells me he has a contract, but he would be perfect for us.”

Carvajal on whether there are any bets for winning Euro

“No, nothing, I thought about shaving my beard in case of winning but my wife told me if I did that I wouldn’t be able to come back home.”

Carvajal on who he’d choose between Nico Williams and Kylian Mbappé

“Well, whoever is on my team. Nico Williams on Sunday. Mbappé after.”

Carvajal on how Real Madrid would integrate Mbappé into the team

“The integration of Mbappé is going to be good. He speaks Spanish perfectly. We have a fantastic dressing room and we are going to welcome him with open arms. It is true that Mbappé is not going to have it easy, we have just won La Liga and the Champions League and the bar is very high.”

Carvajal on what his vote would be for Ballon d’Or

“Me, Rodri and Joselu [laughs]. No one else because I want to win the Euro. Jokes aside, Bellingham and Vinicius have done everything to win the Ballon d’Or. They have had a great year.”

“[Winning the Ballon d’Or] is not on my mind, I don’t think about it.”
