Endrick was presented in front of Real Madrid fans at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday, breaking down in tears as he spoke to the fans, saying, “since I was a kid I have always been a Real Madrid fan, and now I’m a Real Madrid player.”

The stadium was packed, with only just over 200 tickets left available to the general public on the morning of the event, as fans turned out. In particular, there was a strong Brazilian contingent to the crowd, wearing shirts of their country, Palmeiras, and various Real Madrid legends.

Also in attendance were Endrick’s parents, girlfriend, wider family and entourage, as well as Real Madrid dignitaries including Pirri, Santiago Solari and others. The player’s father, Douglas Ramos, was in tears ahead of the start of the event as he took his seat on the turf of the Bernabéu alongside representatives of the club.

A video was played in the stadium showing some of Endirck’s best goals, as well as clips of him as a child and youngster, even responding to an interview question as a a youngster saying “I want to go to Real Madrid”, and showing pictures of him with a certificate for training with a Real Madrid Foundation course as a young boy.

Following that, Florentino Pérez took to the stage and welcomed Endrick to the club, followed by the player taking to the stage himself and saying, “Good afternoon everyone,” in Spanish. “I want to thank everyone for coming, I didn’t expect something like this.”

“These fans are crazy. I’ve always wanted to be here, it’s been my dream, and I thank everyone for making it come true.”

“Now I want everyone to join with me, three, two, one... Hala Madrid!”

Florentino Pérez’s welcome message to Endrick

After the presentation of Kylian Mbappé last week, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez once again took to the stage to address the fans and media present to welcome Endrick. “Dear Madridistas, today we feel the excitement once again of seeing a great player who has dreamt of playing for Real Madrid, and we do it in a stadium which has transformed over the years into a monument to the values of those of us who love Real Madrid,” he began.

“Here we have the 15 European Cups which unite hundreds of thousands of us, and which are the symbol of our history. They represent the values of this club, and are easily identified around the world and that’s why we are the most loved sporting institution in the world.”

“We have a great squad with players who form part of the legend of this club, with some who have even matched Paco Gento’s six European Cups. We are convinced that they will give us more success and they are hungry for success. We work on the sporting policy which has made us the best club in the world, with the best players in the world and the signing of young players who will one day be the best players in the world.”

“Today we welcome one of those players who was born to play for Real Madrid. We waited for him to turn 18 last Sunday and to welcome him at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. We welcome Endrick.”

“Dear Endrick, this moment you are living now is what you dreamt about as a child. We just saw that when you started to play football, you were clear that you wanted to be a professional footballer and play for Real Madrid. That conviction has helped you to make your dream come true from when you were just nine years old.”

“We want you to know that the best fans in the world are here to welcome you. These fans never give up and will give you everything so that you don’t give up either. This will be your strength as you going the best club in the world.”

“Despite your young age, you arrive with the baggage of playing for Brazil, and being an important player for your team in Palmeiras to win titles. You have become one of the young stars of the world and we welcome you to our family now as we will give you everything.”

Endrick’s pre-season plans

The Brazilian teenager underwent a medical and put pen to paper on his contract at Valdebebas in the morning, before heading to Chamartín at midday to be officially presented in front of fans.

It was also confirmed that he would don the number 16 jersey during his first season at the club. The number had been vacant, having last been worn by Álvaro Odriozola before his return to Real Sociedad last summer.

Endrick is now expected to travel to the U.S. tomorrow, on Sunday July 28th, for the club’s preseason tour, where he will arrive ahead of his Brazil teammates who were also at the Copa América and who are not expected to arrive until late next week.

That means that the teenager will work alongside Carlo Ancelotti and his teammates with the hope of featuring in some of their upcoming friendly fixtures against Barcelona and Chelsea, ahead of the European Super Cup.
