Following his official presentation as a Real Madrid player at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, new signing Endrick headed down to the press room of the stadium to address the media for the first time as a player of the club. “I’ve always wanted to play for Real Madrid, it’s been three hours since I signed and it already feels like a lifetime!” he joked in his press conference. “I’m very happy and I hope to stay here for the rest of my career. When I was in the dressing room, two and a half hours had passed since the signing and it already felt like a very long life. That’s how I want to feel. I want to be at Real Madrid for my whole career.”

Endrick on how he feels

“Very happy, as I said on the field. Playing for Real Madrid has been a dream since I was a kid and I’m fulfilling it. These fans are wonderful. I thank God, because only he knows everything I’ve been through and what I’ve dreamed of. I perceive it as a very big responsibility, but I feel grateful.”

Endrick on the tears in his presentation

“I hadn’t planned it, I’ve loved Real Madrid since I was a child. Cristiano Ronaldo came into my life. It was because of him that I came to Madrid in his day! A year ago I looked for all the idols, also Butragueño. I’ve been in love with this club since I was a kid and to be here is amazing. I didn’t want to cry, but it came from my soul.”

Endrick on his presentation

“I am very happy and I thank God for it. I am very happy, because I want the people around me to be happy. For a long time now, what has mattered to me is them and if they are, I am too. Seeing my parents crying touched my heart. This is their dream too and I thank them for it, because without them I wouldn’t be here.”

Endrick on whether he considered leaving on loan

“As I said, since I was a child I was in love with Real Madrid and I wanted to come here. I didn’t care about anything else. When all this started, I just wanted this. I hope to be at Real Madrid for my whole career.”

Endrick on whether he’s intimidated by his young age

“Thank God, no, because he has given me this responsibility and if he has done so, it is because he knows I am ready. Now all I have to do is learn, listen to the advice of players like Vinícius or Militão. What I have to do is learn from them and grow. The more I do that, the better it will be for my career.”

Endrick on dreaming about this moment

“I didn’t expect so many people, because I just got here. When I did and I saw that it was full, I thought... these fans are incredible, it’s crazy. They always support their players and today they did it with me. This has been very special, but not only for me, but for my family.”

Endrick on the pressure

“ felt a lot of pressure at the beginning, but I stopped paying attention to it, because I want to see my family happy and, for that, I have to play well, be with them and not think.”

Endrick on his favourite Spanish food

“I really like paella, but I’m still adapting to Spanish food.”

Endrick on his position

“I don’t know what I did yesterday, or the day before yesterday. I can’t answer that: today has been a wonderful day and I only want to think about this, about today. Nothing about other days. Nothing about the future. I see all my family happy and I am happy.”

Endrick on whether he’s spoken to Ancelotti

“As I just said, I don’t want to focus on these things now. I’m very happy, that’s what I can tell you. There are great players in this locker room and I just think about listening to advice and learning. Focused on helping however I can. No looking to the future.”

Endrick on comparisons with Vinícius

“Both he and Rodrygo came here when they were 18 years old... and so did I. But everyone has their own life. But everyone has their own life. We can’t be comparing who is going to do better. What matters is Real Madrid and we will do what is necessary for them.”

Endrick on the difference in play between Spain and Brazil

“It is very different. I played against Spain at the Bernabéu, where I scored... but I saw the speed of play here, in Europe. And there are differences, of course.”

Endrick on what trophies he hopes to win

“If possible, everything! I want to help Real Madrid win, because that’s the only thing that matters, the club. I hope to add up to conquer different titles and make this stadium’s trophy cabinet grow.”

Endrick on settling in

“It’s a very big, wonderful club. I am here to help, to learn and I hope to have a good season. As I said, Vinícius has his career, a wonderful one and I hope he can continue; he always helps me. But neither you nor I know what will happen in the future. Only God, so I leave it in your hands.”

Endrick on advice from fellow Brazilians

“We talked a lot, like about the winter, the heat, the city, the stadiums.... A lot of things. But I am very calm and happy. Looking forward to playing.”

Endrick on expectations for his debut

“After today I’m very happy. It was a wonderful moment. I imagine them helping me, be it with a goal, an assist or in any other way. I insist that the important thing is Real Madrid. But I hope to score and dedicate it to the fans.”

Endrick on his objectives

“I don’t worry too much about goals or assists, but about helping out. That has always been my mentality. At Palmeiras, in Brazil, when I was a kid... I think about the group, the team. And nothing else. With that in mind, to help. To contribute. Everything for Real Madrid.”
