A Word From the Author

“It is not frightening to know misfortune. What is frightening is to know lost happiness will never come back again...”

One Final Season.

Welcome to The Daily Merengue — a place where you can feel free to discuss all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name!

Shoutout to the Mods who do a fantastic job, Valyrian Steel, KungFuZizou, NeRObutBlanco, Felipejack, and Juninho (the “King of Mods”).

48 Hours Until....Glory

Dear MM,

It is an honor to be in charge of this week’s Daily Threads as we begin another momentous season. Although the transfer news feels slow and there has been a lot of summer football, it’s refreshing to know that club football is starting again. Soon we will see lunge bursting runs from Fede Valverde. The mesmeric twists and turns of Camavinga escaping pressure. Vini smiling as he dances near the corner flag. The shear arrogance of Bellingham with his arms raised to the crowd as he conquers another Spanish stadium. Standing ovations for Lukita. The raised eyebrow followed by a copious amount of chewed gum. Rodrygo one stepping past defenders. El Loco. Raised folding chairs. Suffering....And now hopefully new found glory. Are you ready?

Potential Departures?

Nico Paz. Rumor has it that Nico Paz may be considering leaving Real Madrid for a potential loan (or sale) to Leganes. Personally, it may be time for this young Argentine sensation to prove his worth away from Valdebebas. He simply needs to play more important minutes (and personally I don’t have much faith in Raul coaching Castilla).

Vini. LOL. Saudi put in a bid for Vini. All I’m going to say. I’d be surprised if this goes anywhere.

Latasa? Lunin? Mendy? This isn’t from a reported source but just simply curiosity. I assume Latasa will be sold because he quite frankly isn’t Madrid quality in my opinion. For the other two, I’m just a bit surprised by the lack of news surrounding their circumstances. To my knowledge, neither has signed their renewal which leads me to wonder if anything is still happening in the background. It surely is clear that Lunin will be our second choice keeper this upcoming season and will only get minutes during the CDR, so I’m a bit perplexed why a reported decision hasn’t been announced. Similar to Mendy, the club by all reports has sent him a renewal which seems to still not have been signed...20 days until the transfer window closes I guess

Advice For the Lil Homie
