Celtics learned from past mistakes

With a resounding 118-84 win over their long-standing rivals, the Celtics avenged their 2023 conference finals defeat at the hands of the Heat, proving their mettle and determination to progress further in this year's playoffs.

"This victory is crucial for our growth as a team," remarked Celtics star Jayson Tatum.

"We've learned from past mistakes and applied those lessons to ensure a different outcome this season."

From the onset of the series, the Celtics appeared unstoppable, particularly after rebounding from a setback in Game 2.

They consistently outclassed the Heat, culminating in a commanding performance in Game 5 that left no doubt about their superiority.

Led by standout performances from Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, and Tatum himself, the Celtics left their opponents trailing in their wake.

Their offensive prowess, exemplified by an impressive 3-point shooting display and efficient field goal shooting, proved too much for the Heat to handle.

Despite Miami's efforts to mount a comeback, the Celtics maintained their dominance throughout the game, never relinquishing their lead and ultimately securing a 34-point victory.

Celtic will be without Porzingis

Reflecting on their triumph, Tatum acknowledged the significance of facing a formidable opponent like the Heat in the first round.

"We knew we had to be ready to fight," he emphasized, highlighting the team's unwavering determination and focus.

Looking ahead, the Celtics now await the outcome of the Cleveland Cavaliers-Orlando Magic series as they prepare for the next stage of their playoff journey.

However, they will have to navigate the challenges ahead without the services of Kristaps Porzingis, who is sidelined with a calf strain.

According to TNT'sChris Haynes, the player is not expected to be available until the Eastern Conference finals.

The center averaged 20.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season.

Despite this setback, the Celtics remain poised to continue their quest for playoff glory, buoyed by their recent success and strengthened resolve.
