Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with a combined 52 points, 16 rebounds, and 17 assists. Jaylen Brown was named the 2024 Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP.

The Mavericks showed signs of a comeback late in the first half when Luka Doncic scored a contested basket, narrowing the gap. However, Celtics' backup point guard Payton Pritchard hit a stunning 50-foot half-court shot at the buzzer, echoing a similar shot he made in Game 2, and shifting the momentum back to Boston.

Bueckers' comment

After Pritchard's impressive play, UConn Huskies women's basketball star Paige Bueckers shared her thoughts on the Celtics guard's performance.

"Buzzer beating shots are really Pritchard's specialty that's crazy," she noted.

Bueckers, a standout player named NCAAW Player of the Year in 2021 and a two-time USBWA First-Team All-American, has a connection to the Celtics, having played college basketball at the University of Connecticut, near Boston, Massachusetts.

On Tuesday night, Bueckers took to social media to share a simple message with her fans.

"I miss hoopin," the college basketball superstar wrote.

This message has excited fans eagerly anticipating the return of college basketball.

"And we miss watching you hoop!!!" a fan said.

Another added: "I've got goosebumps we're really winning it all this year."
