Miles Bridges' preparations for the new NBA season have taken a hit after he was forced to turn himself into police as a result of an alleged breach of a protection order.

An arrest warrant was issued for the Charlotte Hornets forward as a result of the aforementioned breach.

This order stems from a domestic violence case involving the basketball star in 2022, after he pled no contest to a charge of injuring a child's parent.

Bridges turned himself into Lincoln County police in the early hours of Friday morning and was accompanied by his attorney.

After appearing before a district court judge, Bridges was later released on a one-thousand-dollar bond.

When was the arrest warrant issued?

This case is not a new one for Bridges, with the original arrest warrant for the breach having been processed in January, although it had not been served.

Bridges is also expecting to be served a criminal summons regarding a violation which occurred on October 6.

He is serving three years of probation as a bargain plea he agreed to in order to avoid jail time after the domestic violence case of 2022, which involved the mother of his two children.

Bridges was accused of assaulting her in front of the children, and the grand total of the protection order is around 10 years.

When will Miles Bridges play in the NBA again?

Bridges is currently suspended from action in the NBA for a period of 10 games and will miss the Hornets' start to the campaign.

There is a possibility that he could face further punishment from the league if there are any more skeletons in his closet with regards to criminal issues.
