Luka Doncic scored 20 points in the first quarter alone and ended up contributing with 36, his highest number in this postseason, as the Dallas Mavericks crushed the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-103 on Thursday, sealing their ticket to the NBA Finals.

He also had 10 rebounds for a double-double to top his best performance in the series, something that earned him the Magic Johnson WCF MVP trophy. He had an outstanding series overall, as he contributed with less 30+ points only once, as he scored 28 in Game 4 in the only game the Timberwolves won avoiding a sweep in the Western Conference Finals.

This year, Luka Doncic has averaged 33.9 points per game with just under 10 rebounds and under 10 assists in the year, but he has been known to be a team player, something that sometimes it gets lost in his high level of play, but the fact of the matter is that he is a selfless player.

To add to that idea, after Game 5 in Minnesota, Luka did something that has everyone. During the locker room celebration, Doncic was seen walking alongside Dereck Lively II and after a brief conversation, Luka seems to be giving his series MVP trophy to Lively, who respectfully turns down Luka.

Dereck Lively II contributed to the Dallas Mavericks run

Dereck Lively II deserves a ton of credit for his work during the Western Conference Finals. He scored 12 points in Game 1 with 15 rebounds playing a series-high 30 minutes, and during the last game of the series to secure a spot in the NBA Finals, he played 25 minutes and scored 9 points with 8 rebounds and blocks.

This shows that the Dallas Mavericks are more than just Luka Doncic or even Kyrie Irving, something that will come in handy when they face a very talented and dangerous Boston Celtics team for the NBA championship.
