Bronny James is finally earning recognition from top NBA players, despite the criticism he is receiving from the media.

Following a 13-point performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he also contributed five rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, Thunder center Chet Holmgren praised James on social media.

"Looked like a total pro," Holmgren wrote on Twitter.

Bronny James is looking to prove critics wrong

James, who played one year at USC before entering the NBA draft, showcased several highlights, including a smooth step-back 3-pointer.

The 55th overall pick has experienced ups and downs in his brief Summer League tenure but has delivered two strong performances in a row. On Wednesday against the Hawks, James scored 12 points, grabbed one rebound, and made one steal.

In his first two games, James managed only 10 points on 3-of-19 shooting. During his second Summer League game against the Boston Celtics, Jaylen Brown's comments seemed to criticize James' skill set, although Brown later clarified his remarks on social media.

When a fan asked if he was responding to Brown's comments by praising James, Holmgren was unequivocal in his reply.

"No."

Holmgren, who turned his own Summer League play into a stellar rookie season, averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game, finishing second in Rookie of the Year voting behind Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama.

Holmgren formed a formidable trio with MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams in Oklahoma City, leading the Thunder to the best record in the Western Conference before being eliminated by the Mavericks in the second round of the playoffs.
