The NBA Draf Class of 2023 is shaping up to become one of the most prolific in recent NBA history with a number of big names who stand out above the rest. One of these named is Miami Heat guard Jaime Jaquez Jr., who is delivering an unforgettable debut season. Although the odds don't place him as favorite to take the Rookie of the Year award with him, the level of performance from Jaquez has been well above average for an NBA player's first year. Given that he is at least fourth in the ROY odds table, Marca English asked him bout the other favorites to win the award and how he gets along with them.

How does Jaime Jaquezz Jr. get along with the other rookies?

On the odds list, Victor Wembanyama is -600 to take the Rookie of the Year Award home. Chet Holmgren is +500 to win it. Behind the two clear favorites are Brandon Miller with +15000 and Jaquez is fourth with +50000. When asked by Marca English about the relationship he has with Holmgren and Wemby, this is what Jaquez said: "I mean it's great, obviously we are competitors. I wouldn't say we are the best friends but I got no issues with nobody. They are cool guys every time that I've interacted with them. So, I wish them all the best."

Where Jaime Jaquez Jr. is excelling is on his first NBA year as a Mexican player, he can already be considered amongst the best ever. Back in December, Jaquez had a massive spike in well-rounded performances with the Miami Heat. There was a moment in which the odds favored him over his other fellow rookie competitors. But now that we are in February, Wembanyama has taken some of that momentum back. Jaquez's team is currently No. 7 in the Eastern Conference with a 30-25 record. The Pklahoma city Thunder are still one of the best teams in the West with a 37-17 record. And the San Antonio Spurs are the third worst team in the NBA with an 11-44 record. Only the Wizards and the Pistons have worst records than Wembanyama's team.
