When the organizers of the Olympic Women's Basketball saw their section of the games get underway, they will have almost certainly wished for a final between host nation France, and the United States of America.
That is exactly what they have got, with Belgium and Australia left to fight it out for the bronze medal in the other match.
It is fair to say that had the USA not made it to the final, it would have been an absolute travesty for the nation. They are fighting France for their eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal in basketball, a truly incredible figure.
The semi-final against Australia was an absolute breeze for the USA, as they won 85-64 and effectively strolled to victory.
The Americans were led again by Breanna Stewart, who finished with 16 points, while Jackie Young scored 13 in her second start, and A'ja Wilson had 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Kahleah Copper, who hasn't got off the bench much, scored 11 points in a reserve role.
France did not find it quite so easy to make it to the final, as they had to battle back against Belgium from a 15-point deficit. Les Bleus eventually won 81-75 in overtime at the Bercy Arena.
Nonetheless, it will be a tough test for the Americans given the pressure of having not lost since 1992 and having the crowd against them.
