Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has managed to have a full deck in his hand to choose his next opponent for the month of September.
This Tuesday, the Canelo Team reported that they reached an economic agreement with the Cuban fighter, William Scull to avoid facing him as a mandatory challenger of the IBF.
But also, as his list of possible opponents is reduced, one name that remains on this list is that of David Benavidez, who has been waiting for several years for an opportunity and at times has even lost hope.

According to Jorge Ebro of the Nuevo Herald, a source close to William Scull's team believes that Benavidez has a good chance of becoming Canelo's next challenger for the undisputed 168 lbs. title.
The report points out that, although in the coming weeks there will be no new information on this fight, what seems to be the final list of possible opponents has been narrowed to the Puerto Rican Edgar Berlanga, and Benavidez himself, although they also included Scull.
In reality, his chances are minimal, due to the little clout he has to offer a commercially attractive challenge to Canelo.
