Messi breaks his silence after Copa America injury: reveals how his ankle is and when he will play again

The Inter Miami star acknowledged that the Argentine national team has quality that assures him a great future.

Although the Argentina Men's National Team won its 16th Copa America title, the Albiceleste had moments of fear after Lionel Messi left the field in the 65th minute following a blow in the first half.

The images of Messi overcome with with tears after leaving the game 25 minutes before the end of regular time have gone around the world, but the player himself was in charge of calming the waters regarding his state of health.

Lautaro Martinez scored in the 112th minute as Argentina defeated Colombia to be crowned two-time Copa America champions.

In a post on his Instagram account, Messi pointed out that despite how bad the injury to his ankle looked, the injury is not life-threatening.

Messi bids farewell to Di Maria

Messi pointed out in a special way the farewell that Angel Di Maria had in this game, since with the final whistle, the 'Fideo' put an end to his international career in Argentina, where he won Gold Medal, two Copa Americas and the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

"Fide (Di Maria) leaves us but with yet another Cup. The older players, like him, Ota (Otamendi) or me, are living it with special emotion, with other teammates who have already been in several tournaments and add their experience as well, and with a group of young players who give their all in every ball".

He pointed out that Argentina has the potential to become an epoch-making team ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers.

"We are a team and also a family, a spectacular group. Thanks to everyone who has been supporting us, this national team has a great present and a great future as well".
