Argentina and Inter Miami star Lionel Messi is about to dfend the Copa America title he and his teammates won during the last tournament. Things will be very different this time and this seems like it will be the last time Messi defends his country in an official tournament. In a recent interview with ESPN, it was Leo himself the one who revealed the final club for which he will ever play. In his home country, there are still many who are begging Leo to play at least a year in his own country's league. While many placed him at Newell's Old Boys, there were many who wanted him to pick between Boca Juniors or River Plate and let that be his final club. But Messi appears to have made up his mind about his future.

During a recent interview for ESPN, Lionel Messi confirmed his very last football club will be Inter Miami. Currently, he doesn't seem to have a plan after that and it's very likely he will call it quits after his current Inter Miami contract comes to an end. Messi almost teared up when he was talking about it because he absolutely loves playing football. Imagine you were blessed by the Gods of football and you can already feel the end of your career approaching. What Leo Messi is currently experiencing has to be overwhelming, especially knowing how much people his retirement will affect. For now, he will go out there and try to win his second Copa America title.

Can Lionel Messi be convinced to play somewhere else?

Club owners from the bigget clubs in Argentina will definitely go out of their way to try and convince Lionel Messi to keep playing. Currently, he is determined to not play for another club after Inter Miami but who knows what the future may hold for him or his family. Any footballer will tell you that during their '30s, they mostly care about spending time with their family and the sport itself becomes a little more of a burden. But then again, we are talking about a legend who is known to be addicted to playing football. We can also get how Messi would already start feeling homesick if he doesn't play regularly.
