The MLS All-Stars faced the Liga MX All-Stars without any of the Inter Miami stars, who are part of the greatest FC Barcelona in history. Most of them played international tournaments with their respective national teams, at least two of the most important did. There were two Inter Miami stars who played the game, we are talking about Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. But not having Leo Messi and Luis Suarez for this game was a serious downgrade for the MLS All-Star team. The game started with a nice back and forth where striker German Berterame scored a nice header after Club America stars Javairo and Jonathan Dos Santos combined to serve the striker a perfect cross. Cucho Hernandez tied the game less than a minute after that, for a moment it seemed like we would have a decent game. But that didn't happen.

Liga MX All-Stars unleash their fury

Liga MX All-Stars also had an interesting foreign player who scored one of the best goals of the game. Moroccan winger Oussama Idrissi was just signed by Club America but he had been playing for Club Pachuca since September, 2023. A beautiful long range shot away from the goalkeeper that gave Liga MX the 2-1 advantage. Tigres academy product Juan Brunetta scored the third during the second half after an header assist from Ferrareis. Monterrey's Maximiliano Meza scored the fourth goal and the official humiliation to the MLS All-Star team. But again, this was a one-sided game where Messi and Suarez weren't even involved.

Should these two South American stars be part of Inter Miami next year, they may be part of the next game in order to get the proper revenge. Luis Suarez did play last weekend against the Chicago Fire in the MLS, but he decided to not play this game due to health concerns. Messi suffered a nasty ankle injury during the Copa America final against Colombia. We still don't have a proper return date for the Argentine but there is hope it doesn't take longer than three more weeks. Had they been present in today's MLS All-Star vs Liga MX All-Star game, would tonight's 4-1 result be any different?
