It appears as if the two-year marriage between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez is disintegrating, to the surprise and dismay of many fans and well-wishers. The two actors were betrothed in a surprise ceremony in 2022 -- but their vast personality differences, 20 years after they split for the first time, continue to plague their relationship amidst rumors of an imminent separation.
Lopez and Affleck are spending more and more time apart as they prepare to sell their $60 million mansion in Beverly Hills, Calif. Affleck has reportedly moved all of his belongings out of the house in and into a rental home -- and now we know how Lopez reacted when she found out.
Lopez's "horror" amid Affleck's move-out
According to the Mirror, citing Heat Magazine, Lopez was unaware of Affleck's intent to move out as she departed the United States for a solo vacation in Europe. When Lopez returned to California last month, she discovered that Affleck had cleared out of their 30-bedroom home entirely -- and she was in shock.
"Jen was horrified when she came back and found out Ben had packed everything up while she was gone," an insider revealed.
Lopez had reportedly been hoping to have a friendly chat with Affleck about their relationship before she made the discovery. But Affleck's decisive and unexpected move -- likened to a "military operation" -- was perceived as a "real slap in the face," and it has only further divided the power couple.
Affleck moved all his possessions into a $100,000-per-month rental home in nearby Brentwood, and he has been splitting time between this home and ex-wife Jennifer Garner's as he plans his next move amid the speculation. Garner and friend Matt Damon have been anchors for Affleck during this time, while Lopez's family has been supporting her during the apparent dissolution of her fourth marriage.
