Beyonce authorizes Kamala Harris to use her song 'Freedom' at her events

Beyonce has given her approval for Kamala Harris, U.S. Vice President and Democratic presidential hopeful for the November presidential election, to use her popular track 'Freedom' at her campaign events.

The song is an anthem for freedom and is featured on her 2016 album 'Lemonade'.

Donald Trump drops bombshell: Kamala Harris to allegedly replace Joe Biden

A source close to Harris told CNN that her team got approval from the US diva's representatives to use the song throughout her presidential campaign.

In fact, Harris already used the track last night during her first official visit to her campaign headquarters.

According to CNN, Beyonce, who is known for maintaining strict clearance guidelines around her music, quickly gave her approval to Harris' campaign when they requested permission to use 'Freedom' this Monday.

Although Beyonce has not publicly endorsed Harris since President Joe Biden announced he would not seek a second term, granting her permission to use 'Freedom' as a campaign song indicates that the current vice president has the superstar's support.

History of support for Democratic candidates

Beyonce has a history of supporting Democratic candidates as in 2013 she sang the U.S. national anthem at President Barack Obama's inauguration.

In 2016, Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z headlined a pre-election concert for Bill Clinton in Cleveland (Ohio) and in 2020, she supported the Biden-Harris candidacy, with a post on her Instagram calling on her followers to vote.
